Should I apply for more than one credit card at a time?
You can apply for more than one credit card at a time but that is not always the wisest idea. First of all each time you apply for a credit card it is reflected as a “hard inquiry†on your credit report. Each time a hard inquiry is made on your account your credit score rating is lowered. Obviously if you apply for several cards at once you could lower your score considerably.
Yet another reason that applying for more than one credit card at a time is not recommended is because it makes it look to the credit card companies like you are desperate for money. This indicates to them in turn that you are not a good credit risk.
It is generally a good idea to wait at least three months between each credit card application to avoid damaging your credit score.
