Vengeful De-Aging

Another very damaging habit of lenders and collection agencies is to illegally “re-age” a debt. This means that they have reported the account to the credit bureaus in a way that makes your credit slip up look more recent than it is. This is blatantly illegal. It is a common revenge tactic among collection agencies and lenders especially if you commit bankruptcy.

As it is illegal you can write the lender or collection agency the following letter


Letter to Remove A Re-Aged Item From A Credit Account

Customer Service Department
Customer Name
Address
City, State and zip cod

Re: Your name
Your Account number

Dear Sir or Madam,

In accordance with the rule so the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council I hereby request that my account be re-aged and reclassified to its correct status as (name the status.)

(List the changes that need to be made.)

Please make these date changes and remove unnecessary punitive information required by the FFIEC. Failure to do so will result in a complaint to the proper governing bodies and authorities and possible legal action.
