Gold Cards
Gold cards are generally cards with high annual fees that are considered to be prestigious. They also often come with many different perks or features such as renter’s insurance, buyer’s protection and discounts.
According to bankrate.com you do pay for these privileges as the average interest rates for fixed rate gold cards are higher than the average interest rate for standard fixed rate credit cards. It seems that there is nothing golden about these credit cards except for the color of the plastic your account number is printed on!
